Problem with paint on rear sight
I just bought my second XDM9 and I'm sure it'll be as great as my first one. However, the paint inside the dimple on the rear sight is half off on one side. It really bothers me because it looks unbalanced if that makes sense.
I was going to just put a dab of white paint in there, but I remember reading about some glow-in-the-dark paint and I think I'd like to try it.
If anyone knows of what I'm talking about, please share the name of it.
Thanks

More than likely you put bore solvent on it. It will soften the paint and allow it to come off.
Look at the forum sponsors area.

Had the exact same problem with mine when I got it. Thankfully the place I bought it from had some sight paint on hand - they touched all the sights up with some hi-vis fluorescent paint (green rear, orange on the front) before I even left the store.
I like it SO much more with the hi-vis sights now. Mine don't glow in the dark, but they're a nice improvement.
Maybe Siteglo is the stuff you're thinking of? siteglo dot com (Can't post the direct link, since I'm a newb)
Doesn't look very bright in daylight to me.

Glow on maybe?
I filled mine the rest of the way with white nail polish.

Sounds like a perfect excuse to send it to James for night sights.
But yes, Glow On is the glow paint. But wtf is the point? You have to 'charge' the paint and it only glows for ~15 minutes.

My weapon is brand new! LOL! I haven't cleaned it yet. It just arrived yesterday so the defect is from the factory.
I like the sound of the hi vis florescent paint. Does it show up in low light?
Does the white nail polish show up good?
After reading on the glow in the dark websites, I don't think it's for me. I want something that will last at least 30 minutes. Night sights are what I really want, but I don't have the money right now. Just need to get by until then.
Thanks for the replies!!!

I would just dab a little white out in there. Or you can call SA CS. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

use a toothpick to clean out any crud. Use another toothpick to dab a bit of white paint. Liquid paper will do in a pinch but will not last.

I can attest to the white nail polish. It made the sights really stand out as the factory white is not really a "true" or bright white. It does make the sights "pop" a bit better.
