Lightbulb XD40 Slide on XD45 frame???
So I get to the range and my buddy is there with his XD45. I have my XD40 with me and we are shooting the two guns. I was wondering about the slides and the 40 upper fits the 45 frame! I did not shoot it but it fits! The slide works and locks up. BUT. The 40 slide is obviously shorter so much so that it doesn't come back to the back of the frame by about, you guessed it, about 1/4 inch. The difference between the 40 and the 45 cartridges. I wonder how long it wil take before someone is making slides for the XD in other calibres. I would love to see a 40 slide for the XD45. Also has anyone tried putting 40s into the 45 mags? I like to know how many fit, and if the 45 mags can be reworked to fit 40s. This slide fitting the larger gun also tells me the SIG sight pusher will work with the XD45!

What do you guys think?

Please do not shoot that combo the pistol is not fully locked up and if you noticed your cocking indicator was stuck far out the back of the slide. When you dryfire the pistol in this combination you will notice the slide after the sear is released the slide moves forward. Bad things can happen during this time if a live round is in the pistol.

I want an xd in 38 super it would fit real nice in the XD45 sized frame.
