I have the XDsc in 9mm and it is my primary carry gun. I would not put this in an ankle holster, I think it's too large and heavy IMO. I carry IWB or in a tactical fanny pack.

ALL are fine guns. best i can say is find a gun shop and hold every one you can find. If the one you REALLY want is just $100 over budget, then save up that extra 100!! Dont settle on something cause you will always be wishing you got the other one
I was referring to the regular/original 3" XD. I should check out that new XDs. I'm concerned about gremlins with a new model, though.

I just checked out the new s model. Looks nifty. My guess is they'll come out with a 9 and 40.

The fanny pack sounds like a great idea when exercising.

Contrary to other posts, the XDsc works well in an ankle rig: provided you use the flush magazine of course. Heavens, I used to carry a BUG Colt Defender (3" 1911) there on-duty.

I pickup my XD 40 subcompact yesterday. It is too heavy for an ankle holster. I've ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe holster but it will take 4-6 weeks before I get it.

Same gun I have. I carry it daily in the waste band. I cant feel it most of the time. It's fairly light.

Welcome to the forums.
The XDsc will amaze you with it's accuracy! Great gun. Can't go wrong with that purchase
IMHO
