Wow, thanks for the responses guys! At this point, i think i'm leaning towards getting just the basic pistol kit, and going after market for a holster and magazine loader.

The blackhawk serpa looks like a good product, and a nice price on it too. I might see if any of the gun shops around here carry the blackhawks, or any other holsters for that matter, so I can test it out.

As far as range bags go, I see that MidwayUSA carries two bags, and from what I've read here, they seem to be extremely well built and well received. I'm planning on this being my only pistol for the next couple of years, so would I be better suited to go with the compact bag, or just go ahead and go with the fullsize bag now?

Again, thanks for the responses guys!

As far as keeping the gun clean, would I be fine with using the supplied bore brush, Hoppes #9, and Kroil? I've always used rem oil on my long guns, so I want to make sure I keep the gun lubed sufficiently.

i picked up the essentials 4" 9mm a month ago (and i love it). the case it comes with is lame it does securely hold any of the stuff in it. i dont use the cable lock (bought a trigger lock instead). my suggestion is to just get the gun and customize from there. i ended up buying a different case a holster and extra mags from the SA site anyway. happy shooting

Thanks for the reply man. I'm pretty much dead set on the essentials kit, and planning on getting a blackhawk serpa holster, uplula mag loader, and midwayusa range bag. ill only store the pistol in its case when its at home.
