I actually have an SA-40 and SA 357 not XD marked slides. These were pre-XD releases for Springfield.

My first xd was a black service model bought in 2004. Regrettably I sold it to my brother who sold it to pay rent.

Had a XD40 from 2001, but that got traded in on a XDM.

Wow I just realized I've had my username for almost 10 years now.

Well, mine isn't really the same as when I first got it. Springer Precision worked it over and then I had Birdsong and Associates refinish it. I have over 20k rounds through it.

I'll see if I can get some better pics than the ones I currently have, but between my XD and XDm:

I purchased my XD on October 19, 2002. I'm not sure where I placed the envelope with the spent casing from it's test fire, so I'm not sure when exactly it was produced.

I do know that my XDm was test fired on October 1, 2010.

I thought I remembered a post on here with a link to a website that (based on the serial number) told us when our XD's and XDm's were manufactured (instead of e-mailing SA to inquire). I tried doing a search, but came up with nothing so far. Anyone else remember that at all?
