XDm 9mm compact 3.8 magazine getting ejected

Hello, so I have a question. I recently bought a springfield xdm 9mm 3.8 compact but I noticed if I put an empty 19 round mag in while the slide is back and push the slide release it will pop my mag out. Whats going on is there some defect with the magazine or the gun? Any info on why this is happening or what to do would be great!
Thanks

does it do it with all empty mags (assuming you have more than 1)?
does it do it with full mags?

lastly, you should not be dropping the slide (hard like that) on an empty chamber

Tough crowd. Does it do the same thing with a loaded mag? Are you riding the slide forward or letting it snap? Am I too tired to realize I got trolled?

I have XDM 9mm compact, but dont see this issue even after 1000 rounds.
Not sure what may be causing it.

Can you check the mag release button, is it stuck midway causing a light hold on the mag?

Honestly, I never tried releasing the slide on an empty mag that I can recall. Granted I am not an XDm owner but I would venture to guess that the empty, light mag is bearing no weight on the mag lever inside the grip therefore any jarring can cause it to come loose and maybe shoot out the bottom.

Typically when your mag is empty having spent all rounds, you release and slam another full mag in there, not just slam the slide closed on the empty mag. If it is a huge issue take it to where you bought it, a local smith or call SA.

Aruden, I have the same gun and at first has similar issues with the large cap mag and the extension that fits on the bottom (to give the full grip). The bottom extension was a bit long due to some trimming missing, after a few times using the gun it settled in. I've also seen guys who trimmed that part a bit.

What was happening was the mag wasn't fully seating because the plastic extension that fits over the slide was blocking it.

Good luck
