XDm 5.25/4.5 9mm Mods
I'm thinking about sending our 9's to Canyon Creek for their trigger mod.
Is it worth the extra money to get their full "limited" package?
What mods do you consider best value for the money on these guns?
Any opinions about Canyon Creek vs PRP?
I just started USPSA type shooting at our local club with my sons, and they shoot XDm 4.5's in 9 too so I may be sending them all in for some work.
We shoot limited because of less mag changes, not ability.

I've not used Canyon Creek, but have sent 2 guns to PRP. The first was a compact XDm 9mm. Trigger improvement was incredible. I also got night sights.
I just sent my second XDm, a service .45. It's also getting a trigger job, sights and this time, a high grip mod. I'll post some pics when it's back.
I can't compare PRP to Canyon Creek to Springer Precision to SA Custom shop. But I can say I couldn't be more satisfied by the work and communication from PRP. Daniel does great work.

I had Rick at Canyon Creek work on my XDm and he did a superb job. Had a trigger job, slide weight removed, slide repainted to match OD frame and some adjustable rear/FO front sights installed. He did and outstanding job...the trigger is amazing. Somehow me manages to remove all over travel without the use of a "trigger bump" like others do...
I couldn't be happier...

It's the small stuff he does that amazes me, the attention to detail. The fact that he flush mounts the rear adj sight by actually milling down the slide, how he custom makes the front sight post to fully fill the slot and match the rolled edges of the slide. He even does the trigger job custom using stock internals. He doesn't use a drop in kit, he actually mods the internals to get the exact pull you request. He even took the time to match the slide color to the frame...
To top it off, he's a nice guy...I live close to him so I actually dropped it off to him in person, I talked to him for close to two hours when I picked it up, he really knows his stuff!

Rich at Canyon Creek does fantastic work. PRP also does fantastic work. Same with Scott at Springer. These smiths are some of the best for a reason -- can't go wrong with any of them, imo.
Def worth the extra money to get Rich's full Limited XDm -- if you're serious about competing in that division yet want to try it without spending 4000 on an SVI / STI.
Smokehouse -- that's a seriously nice looking pistol. Kudos to Rich on that work.
