5.25 vs 4.5 XDm
I have been drooling over a 5.25" XDm. Now I am looking at the 4.5" and thinking about turning it into a target pistol myself. Anyone with any experience with both who could guide me in the wisest investment?

I traded my 4.5 in for the 5.25. No regrets, but the 4.5 is easier to get aftermarket rear sights on, such as a Burris slide ride.

I love both my 5.25" 9mm & .45 for range target use. Don't have a 4.5" but 3 3.8" compacts that I carry. If you are mainly wanting a target pistol I'd say the 5.25" would make you very happy.

Thanks for the advice. I think you are right and a 5.25 it is.
Now how do I get this past the wife?!? If anyone has good advice about that, I am all ears!

Just tell her you were considering starting in a new sport. The choices were Drag Racing, Rock Climbing, or Shooting. Her choice.

A Powder River Precision trigger job on an XDm 5.25 is truly amazing!
