Dented Primers

I have a three month old XDM 3.8 in 45 ACP that started denting primers today without firing any of the rounds. Rounds subsequently shot fine in my Trophy match. Took the gun apart and everything looks fine. Cleaned it well and would put it together but I managed to loose the striker spring while tearing it down (bonehead mistake) so unsure if the cleaning did the trick. Ideas?

Finally found another thread that spoke of the dry channel. Mine was oily. Cleaning will probably do the trick if I could just find that &*%$#@* spring. Thank you!

You will quickly learn to take down the gun with your off hand covering the frame as you remove pins.

A vacuum with a clean bag and wide nozzle will find that spring quickly.

I use a magnet.
There are two striker springs, while you've got it apart make sure the other one is still in there.

Still there. The other one is behind my reloading bench-not worth the effort to try to move it. Several hundred pounds (empty). Just ordered another spring-hope it gets here soon so I can see if cleaning it did the trick.

WOW!

You give up easy. I'd get a wooden stick and glue on a magnet and get that spring in about 15 min.

Unlikely-you haven't seen this reloading bench (solid oak) with six drawers full of "important crap"

Got a spare. It's behind the reloading bench...ha...ha....

BTW-new spring (and drying the channel out) fixed it. Shoots like a dream Thx for all the good advice.
