Could you tell much difference in backstrap change?
I've had my XDm 3.8 compact for a few months now, and with small hands, could not get a good bite on the trigger. I was always shooting to the right with it, and I'm left handed. I never changed backstraps because I figured since they only cover the lower half of the grip, they couldn't help much.
Today, I was bored and decided to put the narrowest one in, and to my surprise, I could really tell the difference. :
I haven't fired it yet, but I'm stoked and will try and get some rounds off tomorrow with it. Hopefully it straightens up my shots. It really feels like a different pistol. Just curious if anyone else has had positive results.

I'm usually torn between the medium and the large grip, but always use the medium. Yes, I can tell a noticeable difference as well.

That was one of then biggest reasons to buy the XDM for me. Slim backstrap worked well for me.

I noticed a big difference. It had the medium on it when I bought it, and felt pretty good. I changed it over to the small and it made a world of difference. I like it even better now. I am using the 3.8 compact 9mm with small backstrap.

Ditto - huge difference for me, and was the big reason (along with the mag. capacity) for the purchase of the XDM over the XD. Still working on which one fits best.... so far, most of the time I've used the middle one.

I just added to my range report over this. I started with the small insert because of my short fingers. In dry firing at home and practicing mag changes, it seemed the small insert allowed me to operate the pistol good.
So my first 4 times to a shooting range I kept adjusting the rear sight to account for shot placement being left. I'm right handed. Focusing on trigger control and pulling straight back still placed my shots left consistently but great groupings.
Today I went to the range with the large insert and shot groupings were very much closer to center. Like 6" closer!!! WoW. I did have many shots of each group right in/on bullseye from 7 and 10 yards. Also shooting steel animals from 25yd was improved. I went from 50% to probably 90% when aiming at them.
Needless to say I'm leaving the large insert on. I do have to break my grip to release the mags but oh well. People don't pay as much attention to that stuff as they do where bullets are landing.

Oh sorry. My pistol in the 5.25 9mm. Not the 3.8.

hmmm... I may need to try the large one. I like the feel of the small one but a more surface area might improve my shots.

I have large hands and found a better fit with the largest insert. It feels better in the hand with the pad of mytrigger finger placed right where it should be. It was one of the reasons I bought this gun.

I've thought about this as well with my XDm 45. I have small to medium hands and my 14 year old daughter shoots with me, so I've just assumed that the smallest strap was the best choice. However, my natural pull up aim tends to be low, and my daughter is hitting low with the gun, so maybe the mid or large would work better for us.
