New XD45 4 inch - good choice ?
I just entered both this excelent forum and the World of XD ownership with an XD45 Service model.
Wow, it's some pistol. Accurate, reliable, fits my small hands perfectly which is amazing for a double stack 45, and barely any more recoil than a 9mm.
Did i make a good first choice or are there even better models of the XD ?
Thanks
Newton

newton,
Your XD should serve your needs fine. I really like mine. If it had been my first gun I might not own another.......I like it that much!!
I tried Glocks, and several other styles of pistols and none of them interested me. I am a 1911 guy for sure but the XD has really changed my mind.

Great choice
The XD-45 service is a great choice I really like mine. You will also enjoy this fine handgun. It's a real good shooter.

I love mine too, I think it's the best double stack .45acp ever!

I have an XD .45ACP in both Service and Tactical models. I admire the quality of both. I rank them second only to my SIG Sauer P220. I only wish that my SIG held a double-stack magazine. Gotta love those .45's

Yes, the XD9! Actually, you can't beat the .45 if your rich enough to afford the ammo. When you figure how many thousands of rounds it takes to get good with your pistol, ammo price is a legitimate concern.
nice choice

I have both XD .45 Service and XD9SC and love them both! I have Glocks, Kimber, Sig and SA Ultra Compacts and the XD's are my favorite by far. Congrats on the purchase

What does it weigh fully loaded. I had a G21 and it weighed to much for me to carry.
