Springfield XD 9mm Sub compact barrels

Hi everyone. Great Forum. I need a replacement barrel for a Springfield 9mm 3 inch Sub Compact.

Called Springfield armory customer service and found out they do not sell barrels for their XD 9mm sub compacts. They are "imported as whole units" per Springfield Customer Support.

It is hard to believe that you can not get replacement parts from the company that sells the pistol. I tried Bar-Sto but they only make barrels for the 4 inch and 5 inch XD's.

Does anyone know where I can get a barrel for the 9mm XD subcompact?

I think he killed someone and wants a new barrel to replace the one that can point the finger at him through ballistics test. He'll be wanting to know about silencers next.

I'll give you the benefit of a doubt and assume you're not a troll, but just very bad about caring for your weapons.

Call Springfield and see if they can do anything for you. I know they have barrels on hand there, because I sent my 9mm sub in for warranty, adn couldn't just send them the barrel, because if they needed to replace the barrel they needed to make sure it was a 'good fit' to the frame/slide.

But it is in fact not their policy to sell many parts to customers at this time, so warranty 'replacement' is all you can hope/beg for.

That, or you just turned $500 of mechanical innovation into a paperweight.

I might have the same problem, and no I didn't kill anybody! I went a little crazy polishing the barrel and might have taken off too much material. Is this something that can be fixed by recoating or will the barrel still function properly as is or am I screwed?
Thanks
Kevin

I guess I must be the only other person on this board that is scatter-brained, because I can see myself making a similiar mistake. The problem with this is that springfield will look at this the same was as the rest of the forum members, they will think your just trying to get another barrel. I believe you will be able to pursuade them to sell you another barrel, but you will have to send the pistol in.

good luck
