jlh820 - I'm glad you're feeling good enough to get out there with the pistol. Have you ever tried Fiber optics? I love FO at least for the front sight. Much easier to pick up. Then again in low light maybe not so much.

I just picked up an Xd-45 with NS from the factory but they appear to be Trijicons with the white rings. I haven't been to the range yet with it yet. If I don't like the sights all pay for FOs.

Here's my XDm 9 with TruGlo TFOs from Gilbert's Guns:

just to pile on here, jlh820, you might want to work on your critical thinking skills. claiming that SA "advertises being the oldest American gun manufacturer but hasn't made a gun in the USA in decades" is a little far from the truth. They say "The first name in American firearms" which is apparently true. And I'm pretty sure their M1A is of US manufacture, though their 1911s and XDs are imported.

And whining about your congestive heart failure because people are criticising your post? really? do we want to put a badge next to everybody's name that has any kind of health problem to make sure nobody criticises anything that they post?

I for one don't care about your congestive heart failure.
It seems to be a poor excuse for your rant full of false information.
Perhaps if you hadn't gotten your panties in such a wad over your mistakes in your OP rant, your ticker wouldn't have petered out on you.

If you are old enough to be retired and have SO much experience with firearms, you should know better than to ASSUME anything regarding firearms or life in general.

Do your research online, read what the people that actually own a particular firearm have to say about them.
Ask people that own the gun you are researching any questions you might have, then go buy your pistol.
That is one of the purposes of this forum.

You should also know better than to take a gun salesman's word for anything.
I've had enough experiences with gun salesman to know the majority of them know very little about a particular gun.
Most of them just know everything about their own favorite brand.
Some of them know nothing and just try to BS their way through a sale.

You still don't seem to acknowledge that the Trijicon stamp is on several different manufactures of sights, because they make the Tritium tubes.

That isn't what I read in your OP..
I'd say your comments are damn near slander..

I'm going to be contacting Springfield to see if they are willing to make good on their FALSE ADVERTISING claims.

I don't like getting ripped off. I hope this post can help others from getting ripped off, too. But remember this...

DON'T BUY FACTORY INSTALLED NIGHT SIGHTS FROM SPRINGFIELD - THEY'RE FAKES AND ARE WORTHLESS IMITATIONS
BTW Trijicon HD sights don't have white rings around them either, and they are made by Trijicon.

Also..

You are the first I've heard since being on this forum to have this issue of blurting out false information about SA's Trijicon sights without researching it first.
Why did I spend so much time cutting and pasting your BS filled rant?
Because I dislike ignorance and ignorant people.
Springfield Armory is a great company with pristine customer service, including the custom shop..

and he will sell YOU and install (for free) any sight your congestive heart desires.
Just ship him your slide and he will take care of the rest.

Take it easy jlh820.
Doesn't sound like your body can take stress very well..
Perhaps instead a rant full of misinformation, you could made your thread an open discussion on SA night sights and ask if anyone else had any input or comment on your situation.
That way we would have provided more information for you, instead of correcting your mistakes.
That would have also prevented you from looking like an ignorant boob..

Oh, you were just joking! How stupid of me. I should've expected people on this forum to make fun of someone lying in bed with congestive heart failure and being too rude not to make answering snide comments their top priority.

But I guess I was just being naive again...

Well, I, much like jlh820, had a dislike for the silver outlined Trijicons on my EMP.
But I knew they were that way when I bought the pistol.

That stated, I sent my EMP back to SACS for some custom work.
They called me the day they received the pistol and went over what I wanted done.
The SACS 1911-A1 custom worksheet (found here Springfield Armory ) doesn't offer white outlined sights.
I asked the guy about the front sight, telling him I hated it and needed a white outline front and an all black 10-8 rear.
I told him if he couldn't do a white outline, I'd settle for a gold bead for the front.
He then told me if he didn't have a white outlined Trijicon sight that was .140 tall (like the stock sight), that he would make me one.
And that is what he did.
My new front sight has a white outline and a Tritium insert, but it does not have the Trijicon stamp on it.
Hence, I really think he made me one.

Stock rear sight, front had the same silver ring.
Actually the silver ring on the rear was a distraction..
I also didn't like the shape of the rear sight.
These are indeed sliver not white.

Pics of the stocks sights after they took them off..
And yes, they are stamped Trijicon..

What they hooked me up with;
The 10-8 rear I asked for with the custom made front sight..

Life is good..

I'm sure James could get you whatever you need.
I know most rear EMP sights are .375 tall, as mine is.
And after research, the front sights range from .180 to .140 tall.
Mine was .140.

If SACS couldn't help me, I was going to have Dawson Precision or Harrison Custom make me a front Tritium with a white outline.
Either could have done it.

I did buy my smooth faced trigger from Harrison and installed it myself..

My 49 year old eyes just couldn't focus on that silver ringed front sight.

Gotta say...your EMP is a thing of beauty. I think that after seeing yours I was hooked. I wont be pleased until I have one. Thanks for the response
