New xd owner...Broke already??need input
Ok first off im new here and just got got my first xd9sc.Owned several glocks and still own a g19.Love the feel of my new xd and loved shooting my sister xd service 9.Having said that ,I havent got to shoot it yet but ive noticed when i chamber a round, when i got to eject it by sliding the slide back, the round ejects fine when the empty magazine is in it,but when i try to eject the round after i remove the magazine the round just falls straight out the bottom through the magwell.Just wondering if anyone has noticed this or is willing to try it with their gun and maybe give me some feedback to let me know if this is normal.I tested with 1 round in the mag and chambered it,then removedmag, and racked slide back. Please help.It will be a week before i get to test it on the range and im wondering if i just need to get ready to ship it to springfield.

Yes, a fatal flaw in some of the XDs that come off the line. I tell you what - I'll take it off your hands for about $50.
Just kidding. Your XD is perfectly fine. When I use a Berretta 92, I can rack the slide sans magazine, and the round will jump out. Not so with my XD45ACP.
Take it to the test range, fire off a couple boxes, and if you still feel like you need to send it in, then go right ahead.

Yea thats normal. You dont get that pop like with a 1911. You always see Rob Leatham drop the mag rack the slide and catch the round that poped out.
It was also in training day, when the rookie poped the round out and cuaght it in front of the gang bangers.

Thank you all for the input.Im hoping to make this my primary cc gun.The stock sights are much better than the glock and the ergonomics of the gun are absolutely great.Already finding that i aim this thing better than the glocks. The finish I dont think will compare to my glock but i take decent care of all my guns and i dont think it will be a problem.Hopefully it will prove itself this weekend and inspire me to get a tactical model.

My XD357 does the same and I haven't had a single FTE. Only 400 rounds through it so far, but I thought the same as you 2 weeks ago when I got it home. Just a crank a $#!^load of ammo through it and you feel much better!

i do that with my beretta when i take it apart to examine it, drop the mag, jerk back the slide with my left hand and let it go, grab the cartridge before it reaches the top of it's arc.

Same thing with mine, with no mag it drops out of the bottom, i have put over 1000 rounds through it NO problems. If i rack the slide hard enough then it will fly, but with a slow rack it drops (very different from my beretta which will fly with the slowest of racks).
Anyway, look on the bright side when you clear you weapon you won't have to chase down that pesky round.
