Just picked up the XD-45

I purchased the XD-45 today at what I think is a decent price. The total came to $420 tax included. What do you guys think about the price I paid? Also, what do you like and not like about the XD-45 itself? Include your comparisons of the XD 40 and 45 as well. Has anyone had any problems with the 45? So far I have found the price of .45 cal ammo a negative. Kind of on the expensive side but should be manageable. Any opinions are welcome and encouraged. I'll post pics up when I can find my data cable to my camera.

Which XD45 did you get? Compact, service, or tactical?

It's the xd45 service. Picked it up in bitone. Never really liked the bitone until it started to grow on me the past couple of weeks.

$420 for a bi-tone seems pretty good IMHO.
I paid $420 for my XD45 tactical in black back in October. Factor in the gear deal from last year and I got a steal.

I have the pics, all I need is that data cable. Always seem to misplace it. It came with the case, all the XD gear, and 2 magazines. I'm just getting ready to take it to the range and see what kind of damage I can do. It's been quite a while since I've shot a 45!

Good price for your XD. I have found Walmart has the best price on .45. Whitebox Winchester 100 rounds, $32.00 I love my XD.

Great to hear about your purchase. You are gonna love it.

Take a look at the thread and post count when you first sign on. There is no way that old topics and ideas can not be continually dredged up by new people. There is no way to go through the entire contents of the site, and the search feature is a pain in the butt. Besides, sometimes you just want to get your thoughts down, and to get fresh opinions from the other members.

Hey thanks for the suggestion on where to buy .45 ammo BigDawg. I'll have to check that out when I swing by Walmart a little later.

As for the range session. Wow, it has been a while since I have shot a 45! What an adrenaline rush! I shot a lot of weapons when I was in the military. There is nothing like squeezing the trigger and popping off a few 100 rounds! I'm just getting ready to clean her up. The pics will be posted after I run to Walmart. Gonna have to buy an SD card reader. My dog decided my data cable was his new chew toy.

I want a xd 45 compact, too. I shot my wife's xd9sc today after putting her new pearce grip extension on her 13 round mag and was really astonished at how much more control you have with your pinky on the grip. Makes me want that xd 45c all that much more.
