Sub-Compact Lower Receiver

Well, today I will be picking up my new XDM40 3.8" from the gun shop. I am so excited. Waiting 8 days is long enough. Just hope the process went through since the state had a busy week with the gun show they had.

Anyway, I have a question and I hope it is not a stupid question but at the time when I bought my gun I did not realize the new sub-compact XDM40 were coming out.

I was curious if it was possible to switch out the lower receiver of a sub-compact with a compact model?

It's possible but you won't find a "lower receiver" on its own.

I stand corrected. I meant the sub-compact lower receiver for the NEW Compact XDm.

I think I'm confusing myself. LOL

I was thinking it would be possible to switch lower receivers too.

I'm a newbie to owning guns and I see a lot of people modding their guns and wondered if people would go far and switch out the lower receivers?

I figured there is a market for switching out barrels why not the lower receivers?

The lower reciever is the "firearm" part that is registered. There is no such thing as an aftermarket lower receiver. In order to replace it you would have to get it from Springfield. Occasionally you may find one on gunbroker or the like, but ive only seen 1 listed there.

Most of us but there's no reason to not correct him so he knows.

Are you saying switch the frame of the XDm Compact for the frame of a XD SC? Why would you want to do that? Look at the dimensions of the guns.

yes you can put your slide on a compact frame the problem is you can't buy just the frame.
