Kyle did a great job getting me my "Christmas present to myself"and at an equally great price. Local steamers wanted $100 more plus tax and had no compacts in stock.
I imagine the margins in this business are paper thin and my business is decided by who has the best communication as well as the best prices.

All I did was welcome the OP to the forum..
I don't buy guns online..
My dealer beats any online price that I present to him.
So as someone stated, I have no dog in this fight either..
Every seller has happy and unhappy buyers.
It is good the OP presented a good experience with his purchase.
It was good timing to defend Jet with the recent complaint thread.
Good experiences are rarely heard about, bad ones are ALWAYS heard about..

Sorry, for the delay in an update.... Holidays and all.... Picked up my XDm from my FFL last night. I spent all night playing with it. Funny how when you get a new toy you can't put it down. Every part of the ordering process was great. Wonderful communication from the dealer. I'll admit, I was nervous about this being a fly by night operation but, I would give them an A even if their prices were comparable to other dealers. The fact that they were $130 (local taxes included) then my usual gun shop gives them an A+.
Planning on putting 300 rounds of Hurters ammo through it this evening. I'll let you know how it goes. Oh, thanks for all the positive feedback. I like this place.
I just wanted to pass along a good gun buying experience. You should definitely check it out.

Another really cool thing about online ordering is you can find a FFL Dealer in the same town as you if you ask around. If I had bought this from my usual gun shop, I would be looking at an hour drive added to the cost of the gun. I asked around work and found a guy that lives 3 miles from me and he charged me a $15 transfer... Nice, older guy. Online is how I will buy from now on.... Until the government makes that illegal too.

I was wondering where to post a question about the value of a couple of guns I've acquired recently. One is a poly tech AK-47, totally stock. The other is a S&W Model 14 service revolver 38 special. Could someone give me a general range of value here or should I post in another forum?

I would think in the chatterbox would be an ok place to inquire about the value unless you want to go right to the ak and wheelgun sub-forums and ask about each one specifically there. Just make sure you aren't trying to sell one until you've reached the 100 post count marker. Congrats on the new xdm and make sure to get some pics up as well as a range report when you can

We only "hate" you FISH on Sunday when the Bears beat the Packers.
Maybe the left leaning weenies in Springfield will get the message when they are the ONLY state not allowing honest citizens to CC?

UPDATE! Well, I just put 400 rounds through the Gun, 200 of which were Herters ammo. This ammo is absolutely the worst ammo I've ever experienced. It sticks in the clips and doesn't feed well. Every round fired but I had 5 miss feeds. I was very glad I had some winchester white box ammo, every round of that ammo was a dream compared to the Herters. As far as my experience with the gun.... wow! I love it. Accurate, comfortable, and a pleasure to use. My groupings were a little looser then I would like but... I haven't been to the range in a while. Practice, practice, practice....
Don't buy Herter's for .40 cal. Their rifle rounds are acceptable but their hand gun ammo is JUNK.

Glad you are enjoying it. I've never had any ammo problems in either of my XD's, and have shot a lot of different brands...never Herter's, though.
