Loading the XD40
Hey everyone!
I just purchased an XD40 and I've been having some trouble loading the magazines with 12 bullets. Once I get about 8 in, it gets pretty hard What's the best magazine loader to use? Do they work well? I've never tried using one.

you didn't get the whole xd package thing with your gun?
i got the one from springfield and it's a lot easier to load. i have a 9 with 16 round clips and after about 10 it starts getting rough.
basically it depresses the spring far enough that you can get the bottom of the bullet between the metal overhangs of the clip. then you slowly pull it back off and push on the top of the bullet until it slides into place.
it doesn't look pretty and it takes a bit to get used to, but sure beats trying to hold the spring down with your finger.

I agree with the last post. I have UPLula loader and it is the best by far. Very easy to use and will load anything from 9mm to .45 including single and double stack mags.

I will third the Uplula. I have both the XD speed loader and the Uplula, both help but the Uplula is fantastic. It is seriously the best $30-35 I have spent in a long time. You can load mags as fast as you can feed the ammo, and your thumbs are none the worse off for it.
