Just got my new XD9SC today (Thanks thunderjohn!). I can't wait to get to the range!

One question for you guys.... I'm planning on field stripping and cleaning it before going to the range, but should it be just more of a wipe-down to get rid of some of the extra oil that it's coated in, or does it need to be a full cleaning with pads/brushes?

Its up to you. I always do a full clean just so I know it is cleaned the way I like it. have fun when you are at the range, take pictures.

The friendly UPS guy just dropped off 1000 rounds of range ammo and a new bore-snake. This has not made the wait any easier!

I was getting stuff for almost two weeks before i actually got my gun. Peaerce ext grip. Extra extended mag, some rounds, a cleaning kit, etc, yeah made it tougher, but worth it.

On both of my guns I field stripped them to look for any machining debris. Didn't find any. Reassembled and headed to the range. Zero issues. I clean mine every 250 rounds or so. Zero issues. I have almost 1000 rounds through the pair.

Got my 9sc, a couple of boxes of ammo, went directly to the range. Never had so much as a hicup. That was 3 years ago. Still not had a hicup!

Thanks for all the input! I think I'm going to do a really good wipe down and hit it with the bore-snake and call it good. I'll let you know how things went. Tomorrow can't some soon enough.

I cleaned mine just to be sure it was good to go. I am ocd though , jk a bit...

field strip, clean, lube, shoot... repeat as often as possible.
