My post-deployment present to myself
I'll be purchasing a 9mm as a present to myself when I return from my deployment. Obviously most everyone here would recommend the XD or XDm. I'm just wondering what people's thoughts/opinions are on the full/compact/sub-compact sizes. I plan on using this as a second carry, in addition to my S&W SW99 .40, not so much as a BUG, just an additional weapon. I'll be carrying it on the Beltster.

I say get the XD40sc. You can share ammo with your other pistol, and if you want to you can easily convert it to a 9mm.

I don't have a problem concealing my 4" "service model", but the 4" with the compact grip might be the best compromise

I just bought a XD40 SC and I love it. I have shot my brother's 4" service model XD 40 as well and they are both very nice pistols. The 3" is still easy to handle and more accurate than you would think. You can't go wrong with either model though.

sweet! i picked up my XD 40 when i got back from my first one 7 years ago. get an XD man, AMAZING firearms!
