XD with a grey slide

Sent my XD9 off to Springer Precision and had Heinie Straight 8's, Combat Carry Trigger job and a grip chop. Also had them Cerakote the slide Sniper Grey. Was gonna go with Blue Titanium but I wussed out at the last second and switched to the grey. Kinda hard to see with the flash but the trigger is also coated.

Just putting this out there for anyone in the future who's thinking of coating their slide and wanting to see different color options. When I was trying to choose the color it was tough to find pictures of guns with black frames and coated slides in the various colors I had narrowed it down to so maybe this will help someone in the future make a decision.

Also added a Tungsten guide rod and 22# spring.....going to take it out tomorrow to shoot it for the first time since getting the work done.

Yeah at first I was doing it just for the protective qualities and was going to have it coated black but then I thought why not personalize it a bit. I'm sending in an AR bolt carrier group to get ionbond coated black so I'll probably send in the barrel and remaining small parts to get ionbonded too. Then I just need some sort of grip enhancement (either those hogue rubber covers or grip tape decals) and I'll be done with it.

If I ever put together a competition gun I'll get it coated in the blue titanium...i like that color but thought it'd be a bit too flashy for a carry gun.

CeraKote is a little hard to work with, but if you know what you're doing, the results are generally fantastic. slide looks great, couldn't have done better myself

Matching the color to what CeraKote says the color is can be quite difficult. The stainless steel looks almost exactly like the Grey you have there. Looks awesome, Springer does great work. If it wasn't for him, the XD wouldn't be so 'special' to me

That pistol looks really sharp, I'm sure it'll shoot as good as it looks. Post a range report when you can.
