XD-9 Service-Buying A DGR-Which Spring For Me?

This was originally posted in the DGR area but recieved no replys for several days so I'm putting it here.

Just bought my first XD-9 Service to add to the family. I know I want a DGR but not sure what spring I will want. I'm MORE interested in it's reliability than changing felt recoil.

I figure that either the 18# or 20# will be it for me, but not sure which one.

Those with an XD-9 Service with a DGR let me hear your recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

18# is the way to go. I tried a 22# spring and found that I was back on target much better/faster with the 18. Recoil is subjective but I found it to be soft.

Thanks!
I ordered one from P-G with the 18# spring. If I ever want to try a 20# spring I'll just buy one. I'm sure the 18# will be great.

I'm not concerned with the recoil of this pistol. I'm sure it will be VERY easy to shoot.

It can't be as bad as my XD-40SC was...and it wasnt too bad untill 200 rounds or so.

So a 18 lb. spring will give you less bounch? More favorable for double, or triple taps?

With the heavier spring you have the slide slamming forward much harder. IMO the 18 is more flatter shooting than the 22.
