Where are you at when you took that pic?
Good to see another poster from Utah, and one that has a wife willing to shoot with him. I'd also recommend trying to hold off until after the baby is born, based on what we read when my wife was pregnant. Unfortunately, she hasn't been shooting since.

My fiancee loves shooting. My ultimate goal is to get her to fire my deer rifle. It's a 7mm-08 w/ a synthetic stock. To me, less kick than a 30-30. She's gettin used to shootin my XD-40 Service, but she still isn't used to the trigger pull on it. I'm still workin on that with her. It's nice knowin that there's more and more women gettin into it.

RSO, watching my GF shoot. My GF, nose over toes, working her HK.
RSO to me: "Don't piss her off."

Andy, Congrats! I'm sure you feel better knowing that your lady can handle herself with a firearm should she need to. All the little details of stance, grip, etc. can be worked out. The biggest mistake we make as fathers and husbands is trying to bog a loved one down with so much technical crap that it takes the fun out of the sport. Let her just SHOOT the thing a few times and learn to enjoy it. Then you can OFFER her suggestions to help her become a better shooter.

My wife was anti-gun, until I took her to the range with me. I started her on the Ruger Mk.III. The .22 eased her fear a little, and then I worked her up to the Sig 226 9mm. I was going to sneak in my Smith 340PD .357 Mag carry piece for a nice joke, but I need the sex, so I deferred until a later date.
Anyhow, she is hooked!!!! She now asks to go with me, and she is considering her carry permit.

Hey now. For the most part I have a cup and saucer grip and do quite well. Why do I have a grip like that? I grew up shooting revolvers (I was shooting full bore 357mag when I was 8-10 years old). If you have a "pistol" style grip on a revolver, you will feel what hot powder coming out of the cylinder is all about. Generally, I use one grip regardless if I shoot pistol or revolver.

Lucky bastard. My wif still hates guns. And to make matters worse, SHE was the oe invited (forced??) to go shoot machine guns when 1) someone else was loading the mags and 2) someone else was paying for the ammo. The positive note, she said the MP5 was fun to shoot.
