Factory must intall night sights?

I had a reputable gunsmith/shop/range tell me the same thing today. When I asked them to install night sights on my new XD-40 SC they said the factory sights are pressed in with like 20,000lbs per square inch of pressure and they didn't have the "machinery" to remove them so they don't do XDs. This is a place that both rents and sells XDs.

Thanks to all who advised we shop around. I bet someone in this town will be able to do it.

Just had TFO's installed on my XD9sc by a local gun shop. Dropped it off at 10:00 AM and picked it up after lunch. They told me that the factory sights are a little tough but usually not a problem. Seemed they thought it was more trouble to "gently" push on the TFO's so as to not damage the tritium vial. Installation was free with the purchase.

I've installed sights on 3 different XDs, all I used was a punch, hammer, vice, jewelers file, and a piece of cardboard.

I just install so trijicon on my
xd SC using a xd sight pusher. It wAs a piece if cake!
