New XDM owner - General DVD & Sight help

OK - having just joined the site and purchased my first XDM - y'all have been very helpful in answering my first questions regarding ammo. Thanks so very much.

Now to my next questions:

1. I'd like to purchase a DVD or two on general shooting, techniques, use, practice, and potentially competitive issues. I've seen the Matt Burkett "hand gun techniques" 2 DVD set. Thoughts on this or other DVDs to use?

2. It has been suggested that I purchase a Dawson Precision front DP .100 x .160 Optic sight. Thoughts on the use of this for my XDM 9mm?

You might drift over to Brian Enos' forum (Brian's Forums) Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo! (Powered by Invision Power Board) and look around there. He was/is a competition action pistol shooter and sells many books and DVD's from various shooters including himself. I have myself ordered things from his store in the past.
