Tactical mag loading...
not sure if that's the proper term but you know when you slap a mag in with a locked slide with enough force that the slide moves forward. My brother was visiting and brought his glock down. He has at .40 glock I have an xd .40 service. He loved my xd the only thing he didn't like was you couldn't slap the mag in and get the slide forward like on the glock. Can you do it on an xd? If so how hard to you have to bang the mag in? He was trying is damdest I tried on his glock it just does it with just decent force.

Had a G17 that used to do it all the time then it just stopped doing it, no chages to the gun or new parts. Have had my HS9 do it but only a couple of times.

Won't happen. Mine won't do it, none I've ever fired will. Glocks do, but anyway... As long as you still have a thumb you can hit the release RIGHT after the mag's in.

You could try having your thumb ride the slide release. That way when the mag is slammed home, the force will release the slide.

I don't know if I would call that a "tactical reload"...maybe "mall ninja reload". Seems like a poor way to train, as you'll never be able to do it 100%, and the one time it doesn't work will be when someone is shooting back.
I would train to use the slide lock lever or slingshot it. Also remember that slamming mags can damage the gun, especially if you're using longer magazines or mags where the floor plate is not stopped by the grip. Especially with Glocks...I know the top cartridge is already VERY close to the extractor when normally seated, let alone slamming it in there.

I can do it with my M, but it misses the round 7/10 of the time causing me to rerack.
Guys at the range do it all the time with XDs, YOU HAVE TO SLAM THEM HOME!
(not yelling just stating)
Working on the 7/10 problem as we speak. Its a mag issue.

I've done it approximately 100-150 times with no ill effects, just a sore palm sometimes lol. Some of the guys I shoot with have done it for years, thousands of times, with no problems.

My ex-XDm did it, but almost any pistol will do it if you really slam that mag home.
Honestly, I look at it as a malfunction, not a benefit, because with the way I practice, I'm gonna rack the slide anyway, and drop a live round on the ground--assuming that it stripped a round off a fresh mag, which is not a 100% proposition.
Either way, it's not a good thing.
And, for what it's worth: a "tactical reload" pretty much means that you are reloading before your weapon goes to slidelock, and you are planning on retaining the magazine for possible later use.
