you cant even compare the 40 to the 10mm. full power 10mm are significantly more powerful then 40s&w.
not to mention that if they made a 10mm xd and used the 45 mags you can fit 16 of them! at around 700 ft/lbs of energy each, it offers a lot more power per mag then any of the other rounds used in xds.
so a mag full of 10mm loads at 700 ft/lbs would be a total of about- 11,900 ft/lbs
and a mag full of 45acp with about 400ft/lbs each would be a total of about- 5,200 ft/lbs
so that over double the amount of energy per mag when you compare the 10mm to 45acp

I have a subcompact glock 10mm. I have more ft/lbs of energy out of it then a full size .45 ACP with almost identical expansion.
I really want that gun! it will be my next purchase

Actually it would take letters AND major contracts. And even then it's not likely to happen. To make it economically feasible for a company to product new machines to tool a new caliber would be a huge undertaking. We're not talking about a company just breaking even to make a few hundred people happy, we're talking about SA having to make a large profit.
