Cleaning a stainless steel slide
Good morning!
I have a quick question about cleaning the stainless steel slide on my XD-40.
In the past, I've always wiped it down with some gun oil or used a plastic or wire brush with some hoppe's gun cleaner (NOT the powder solvent). That usually works ok, but I was wondering what you guys use to keep your slides shinny and free from grease and spots. Any thoughts/advice?
Thanks in advance!
Frank

Same here. I use a light coat of RemOil or CLP, and then the silicone cloth.

I just wipe mine down with a microfiber cloth after cleaning. Haven't had any problems yet.

You probably don't want to use a wire brush on it. Rem Oil is the name of the game... wipe with a little microfiber towel and you are golden.

I clean it with RemOil and wipe it down with a silicone cloth afterwards.

I clean mine with Break Free CLP, and wipe it down once in a while with a silicone cloth.
