"...police matched five shell casings found at the scene with a model of gun registered to Harrison: a Belgian-made semiautomatic pistol that fires bullets that pierce 48 layers of Kevlar. This is military-grade bling, favored by connoisseurs because it is easily concealed."
I am no expert on Belgium firearms, the only one I know of is FN. I am also quite innocent when it comes to armor piercing ammos, but 48 layers of Kevlar sounds damn impressive. Anyone care to chime in and educate me?
Edit: Sorry, I thought I was posting in Chatter Box. Mod, please move if needed.

Well...what sort of kevlar? Kevlar on it's own really isn't bullet proof, they make plenty of kevlar clothes that probably couldn't stop a .22LR. And if it was the FiveseveN he used, I don't think the AP rounds would even go through that much BP kevlar. He probably only had the ballistic tip stuff, too...nothing special about that, just a holopoint with an 'evil' tip on front,
Oh, and if it is a 5.7 pistol, "easily concealed" is the overstatement of the century. Concealing that is like trying to hide a battleship on lake erie.
That's what I was thinking, perhaps the liberal media confused Kevlar with 48 layers of skin tissues...

I hereby certify that the person described hereon has been granted the privilege of carrying a concealed weapon in compliance with Arizona revised statute 13-3112.
When the story first broke awhile back, I remember the libtards on ESPN calling it something to the effect of a "Custom Belgian-made pistol" and made it sound all whiz-bang and stuff...I assumed it was an FN Hi Power or something...cracked me up when I found out it was just a frickin' Five-SeveN.
I was in college when I started realizing that, if the news media was so sloppy when it came to stuff I did know something about (e.g. science and technology) then it stood to reason that they were probably as sloppy with the facts when it came to stuff I didn't know much about. With that in mind, I stopped listening to most 'news' a while ago.
But I did manage to catch a CNN report about an 'epidemic' of gun violence in Philly where the main point of 'proof' WAS A SURGE IN APPLICATIONS FOR LEGAL CCW. Of course, no attention was paid to the most obvious followup question: HOW MANY GUN CRIMES IN PHILLY ARE COMMITTED BY CCW HOLDERS? No doubt the followup wasn't asked BECAUSE THE ANSWER IS 'ZERO.'
Sorry for the 'shouting' but just another example of sloppy 'journalism.' Uggggghhhhhhh.........
