CT Laser and/or Night Sights?

I'm interested in your opinions whether I should get a CT laser and/or night sights for a XD9-SC I plan to buy this week. The gun will be fundamentally for home defense and some carry.

What is a CT laser?

I am putting TruGlo TFOs on my XDM 9mm; I figure being able to aim under all lighting conditions is a no-brainer for any weapon.

However, as someone pointed out to me, the absolute best investment for a home defense weapon is a flashlight, because if you can't see your target (and friendlies!) then fancy sights and lasers are useless. Thus I'll be picking up either a rail-mounted SureFire or Streamlight as well.

The new green LaserMax Uni lets you mount a light underneath the laser which seems like a sensible approach. Not cheap though.

I have night sights on my XD, and a laser on my J-Frame. I find the night sights much more effective than a laser.

I have a J-Frame with CT grips and a XD with the grips. I like them on the J-Frame but not so much on the XD. I would say get the night sights for the XD.
