XD-9 Service, Lockblock Cracking
My gun is on the way to Geneseo for the Lockblock cracking issues. Should I replace the Don's Guide Rod with the stock Recoil Spring before sending it? I don't want to give them any excuse for not repairing the gun. I know that Don says there is no correlation, but I don't want to take a chance. What are your thoughts?

If you have it swap it out but no worries if you already shipped it

I have not had any isses with the block cracking and I use Don's rod, so I see no corellation between using the rod and locking block failure. However, many manufacturers like to use after market modification as a reason not to honor warranties, so I would put the stock part back in. If you still have it, it just takes a couple of minutes and removes a source of worry. You can always put Don's rod back in when it comes back.
