Should I get a XD 45Gap?

Been trying to decide on a XD 45 or a H&K 45. I really like the XD's I have a 40 subcompact now with the OD frame. Local shop says he can get me a 45 GAP bitone in 2 days. Should I? I know the Gap round may be hard to find but I really want a 45 and would love for it to be a XD. Once again, should I?

Edit: Is the 45 GAP round that much superior to the 40 S&W?

I don't see why you wouldn't get it based on what you've posted. I love mine! Also, the .45GAP round, is the same bullet of a .45ACP but with a shorter case.

I personally do think the 45 GAP cartridge will be around for some time.
Thats my opinion..
Worst case, you could always reload..

Congrats on your choice. Being primarily a 1911 shooter, my OD green 45GAP Service model looks and shoots great.

You should always be able to swap the barrel with .40 or 357 SIG.

It was my understanding that you could only get conversion barrels from .40 or .357 to 9, or swap .40 and .357, but not for the GAP. Has this changed?

It is true - you cannot interchange the 45GAP barrel for the .40, .357, or 9mm. That is one of the reasons people are so hot for Springfield to come out with a .22LR conversion kit. I know I am.

There is a thread in here somewhere where a lot of people are tracking a rumor that Springfield is coming out with such a kit in the (hopefully) near future.
