Rather than get on each other about he said/she said/re-read the post stuff, I vote for a re-release of the video.

If you watch the video in reverse that is how i normally do it. I was pressured for time.
Ill be remaking it when I have the time.

That somebody would be you.

Starting to sound a bit childish. Maybe the mods should lock this thread.

soon after you're old enough to drink, fitting in to those tight jeans won't be so appealing to the opposite sex...enjoy it while you can

Pro's:
You took the time to make a video
You at least checked to make sure the gun was empty
You asked for comments or constructive criticism
Cons:
Video mislabeled, should be how to lubricate an xd and swab the barrel
Either way if that gun was clean and/or in reverse order it still didn't go over all the steps necessary to properly clean the gun.

I'm not bashing you at all, I believe you could probably go through and make a very good video if you would try this but it's just an opinion not preaching!

Start by preparing your workspace, a nice workbench or table with a thick towel or drop cloth and get the camera closer to your work area. Introduce and explain the parts of the gun as you're clearing the gun and go over the safety aspect of why you double check the chamber. You don't have to get super detailed but something like, first remove the source of ammunition, magazine, rack slide verify no ammunition by racking slide with magazine out of the frame, finally visually inspect the chamber blah blah blah you get the point. Your next approach would be to clean the parts while they are disassembled as this will give you the best access to the dirty areas that build up with fouling. Not sure how everyone does it but usually you let the chemicals do the work for you, take a cleaning solution soaked patch and run it through the barrel with a jag chamber side first and let the chemicals soak as directed by the instructions on your particular brand of cleaning solution. While that is working you can start removing buildup from the frame with a soaked rag or patch with your finger get as much as you can and use a q-tip if you feel it's necessary. After you've gone through the entire frame, wipe out the action and lube any parts that rub like the sear, etc. and work your way to the slide, clean out any fouling and lube as needed. Now that you've used your time wisely and given the chemicals time to work on the barrel go in with a brush, remember to keep it loose in the holder so it can follow the rifling of the barrel, and breakup anything that was loosened by the chems. Run a freshly soaked patch through the barrel again, continue until it comes out clean and then oil it with a few passes on a patch w/jag. Reassemble the slide, barrel, guide rod spring assembly. Oiling the slide is usually an individual preference, I run a thin coat of gun butter along the inside of the slide where it will run on the frame rails then rack the slide a few times to distribute the lube evenly and wipe off the excess. It's all up to the individual but you'll at least put out a solid video with good information and give a newbie some good direction and they can deviate as they please once they get an idea of what they are doing and what works best for them. Good effort just needs a little polishing.
