As far as I know, you are not supposed to drop a round into the chamber. Therefore, is there not only one correct way to do it?

You need to learn to not ride slide when chambering a round.

funny that some gun owners wouldn't know this little "trick" but then again, I was at the range when a young slight build lady was having trouble racking her Glock 27 (I own one) and she noticed that I opened the slide BEFORE the mag was inserted and then closed by slide release.
She just couldn't get a good enough grip to get the strong spring open.
I worry about her ability to clear jams and other operations when you might have to pull the slide back, but she was just another shooter on the range that day.
Funny what you can find on those sites.

What do you mean by "Ride slide"? I'm assuming you meant ride the slide. But what do you mean by that?
