I'm sure you know that though, just be safe is all I'm sayin. Oh and isn't it hard to draw reliably/quickly like that? I would think that the sights (especially on an XD) would get snagged a lot. |

nothing in the CC laws says anything about having to have a holster. I do not open carry - the picutres i showed with it visible was for reference only - a 'here it is, here it isnt' comparison. If i were under the michigan open carry laws i would be required to wear a holster to be legal.
as for ease of draw - no front site snags and its fairly easy to get to and will do just nicely until fall gets here and i can wear my regular winter coat with nice big easy to access pockets. I've been practing drawing with my snap caps in play, and let me tell you.. its much harder to tuck the gun to a comfortable wear position than it is to draw it |

I too carry my Xd40 sevice "Mexican Style" on a daily basis... It's much more comfortable for me especially in the summer. I'm not too concerned about safety as I am careful not to depress the grip safety when inserting the weapon. I have had no issues with snagging at all. I'm waiting for the right time to purchase a Supertuck to try out since I've been reading so many praises about it.
I do feel a little more uneasy about carrying my Sig P226 without a holster... But I really don't see how my clothing can engage the trigger, especially in DA. I am completely comfortable with the XD all day long. |

I carry my XD service .357 (okay, it was originally a .40 but I wanted the OD frame AND .357 and the only way to get that is with a conversion barrel) in an IWB holster and find the comfort very reasonable.
For the record the holster is a Tucker Gunleather Silent Thunder. Tucker Gunleather is not always the cheapest (and the waiting can suck, but what are you gonna do...it's handmade by one guy) but I now use their stuff exclusively. Guess that makes me a Tucker fanboy.

I carry an XD9 service in a supertuck during the summer and my wife doesn't notice I'm carrying and I KNOW she's checking me out all the time.
I wear t-shirts or button down shirts and even in crowded places I lean, stretch, bend, and either no one notices or they're too scared to say something. Packing the .40 ought not to be a problem with the right holster. During winters here in MI I carry in a regular holster on my belt under a larger sweatshirt or jacket. I like concealed, but during winter IWB would be too deep. 6'1" 190lbs. |
