XD9SC safety question
I was wondering if anyone knew if Springfield Armory was going to start offering the option of a manual thumb safety on other pistols besides the Tactical 45? I just got the XD45 Tac with it, and I really like having that option. I don't have to use it if I don't want to, but I enjoy the choice.
I would get the XD9SC in a heartbeat if they offered that as an option. My G26 would stay in the safe for quite a while.

I doubt it...i understood it as a feature added for law enforcement and military consideration.

I have learned to trust the safety features in my weapon. I like NOT having the thumb safety. It did take some getting use to..

I love not having the thumb safety...if your finger isn't on the trigger you have nothing to worry about. Isn't that what law enforcement and military guys are taught anyway? Finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire? I don't see the lack of a thumb safety as an issue, I think SA's dual safety system is actually safer...

Law Enforcement I understand the desire for a safety{political correctness etc.} Military needing an extra manual safety on their sidearm[back-up weapon] seems ridiculous to me.

I wouldn't buy it if it had a thumb safety and also the other two safeties that it already has. The trigger safety and the grip safety are enough for me. I like being able to draw the weapon and fire it.

The XD9SC has one more safety than your G26 as it is.

I decided on an XD for that very reason over the glock. The backstrap safety sold it for me. I didn't like the thought of having what is essentially a single action gun in my pants with just a trigger safety. Man what if I hook that thing somehow holstering it? With the XD as long as I'm off the backstrap (if the trigger is pulled accidentally) it's safe.
