$500ish seems to be the price i see them for nowadays at gun stores. Usually see them for a tad cheaper online. then you gotta pay transfer fees and whatnot so it evens out

it's like buying a car, you might be able to talk them down. Last year I picked up a 40sc listed for $530 ish asked for their best price and paid $479 (prices before tax etc)
If they know you'll buy but might walk they usually will work with ya

great.....Yea that's before tax but there are no extra fees. I told the shop owner that I thought $450 was more appropriate and she said she pays more than that. Who knows..... The screwed up thing is that a couple weeks ago she quoted me the $450 and now when it's time to buy she says $518. I asked her what happened and she just says she must have made a mistake. Written out this sounds totally fishy, but I have bought several firearms from her and her husband and always gotten a good deal and a box of shells as thanks. Her husband is sick with chemo/cancer right now so I don't mind paying a little more to throw them a bone but I also don't want to get taken for a ride.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

That is either an outright lie or she is getting ripped off by her supplier.

I paid ~$500 for my XD9 Service (Bitone). I think it was a decent deal.

There's a seller on gunbroker that has ridiculous prices on new XDs. Look at seller supohunter - $425 shipped. If you can find a local transfer for $25, then you're looking at $450 out the door, if you don't mind waiting a bit for it.
