Trigger Question, PowderRiver option?

He guys...

I bought an XD9SC with the PR trigger kit and I love it. I also have a XD45c and just ordered my kit for it also, but I have a question...

The trigger "takeup / pretravel" is long on the XD. Does the PR kit move the actual starting point of the trigger or does it just get reduce the travel?

To put it another way. If you were to look at your pistol, is the trigger any closer to the grip after the install?

If it's not is there a way to do this?

It doesn't move the trigger just takes as much travel out of it as you want. If you have trouble reaching the trigger on an XD you have more serious problems to deal with.
Powder River Lever on an Old XD, results.

That's correct, with a proper grip, my finger is barely able to connect with the trigger as it should. This frame is newer. I can either reduce the amount of reach needed for the trigger or reduce te grip diameter.

+1 trigger doesnt move, just the slack is removed, what you are essentially doing is adding metal to key parts, not adjusting them

Here are some pics showing the change in trigger positions before and after my PRP trigger upgrade (includes the overtravel stop):

As you can see, where the trigger breaks is different. Where it starts is the same.

Not trying to be a jerk.
Why can't you reach the trigger?

LOL... I can reach it. I just want a touch (mm's) more of my finger on it. I'm used to most DA/SA's that when cocked put the start of the trigger rearward. I have small hands. My XD9SC is perfect, but the 45 is just a bit more reach.

For the guys that posted the PIC's, Awesome! That's what I love about this board.

I guess I will live with it until I get my grip reduced and stippled.

Thanks Again!

i did this to my XD way before any of these parts were available, it can be done, but its not easy and requires some metal work. my trigger was down to about 1.5 pounds with no pretravel overtravel, total pretravel is 3/64ths of an inch with a total pull of 1/8th of an inch to fire the gun. this was with totally stock parts, and alot of patience and silver solder.
here is the link
Refined trigger job.

me and loves2shoot had a few discussions and we agreed that this is as light and crisp as you can get the XD without having reliability issues, wish i had the patience to do it again.
