Would you shoot this bullet?!

I would not have thought twice. Until I've been researching reloading preparing myself to start reloading. And I read an article that said that if the bullet was seated even .xxx amount deeper that it would cause catastrophic pressures. So here is the bullet and two bullets that aren't affected.

How did it get this way? It is Hornady TAP ammo, my home defence ammo in .45 ACP. I use the mag for USPSA matches. So when I take the gun to the range I take out the round, put it in the top of the stack, come home and rack the slide. So I guess by seating it what... 20-30 plus times it has squished it.

Is it safe to shoot?

TAP is loaded pretty hot to begin with, I'd say NO. Way to much set back.

Is a .20 cent bullet worth your hand or gun?

Blake.

hhhhmmmmm...... Throw away a .50 cent bullet or try to shoot it and have the possibility of it grenading my $500 pistol???? Seems like an easy decision to me, but maybe it isn't for some.

Probably would work, but not worth the posible ER visit.

Kudos to you for spotting the faulty round.

So where would one dispose of bad ammunition? If you didn't want to keep it around so that you didn't accidentally load it with other ammo, where would be a safe place to dispose of ammunition?

I suppose this would also apply to duds or squibs.

You wouldn't want to just throw it in the trash, since you don't know what might knock into the primer and potentially injure or kill someone.

Any ideas? Bury it three feet underground and forget about it? I'd hate to be the guy digging a trench in my front yard for whatever reason and strike the round with my shovel.
