a couple of newbie questions...
Where does the phrase "field strip" originate from? I know it means to take apart your gun and maintain it but, why do we say "field strip"?
Also... What do the letters XD stand for? |

Field strip simply means it can be disassembled in the "field", i.e. hunting, battlefield...and you can do all of this without the use of tools...you'd need a gunsmith to break the gun down further than a normal field strip...
