Opinions/Questions?

I need a couple of opinions,I have finally stashed some money from the Ole' lady so I'm looking to buy a xd. This is what I'm looking to buy, XD9 service, Xd(m) , or possibly the new Xd(m) 9mm whenever it comes out. I have held both guns and are very comfortable.I have read great things about both guns just wanted some insight. I also have another question what are the pro's and con's and benefits, etc of a .40 compared to 9mm and vise versa? I read a thread about the grip on the Xdm hurting your hands bad can you give me your opinions on that. All your input would be greatly appreciated.

Since I have big hands, I chose the 40 service. It felt better by grip and weight. Since I am a big guy, I didn't like the "feel" of the sc. The 40 because I have another weapon with the same cal..

I have the XD9 Service. I have had no reason at all to regret that choice.

I went w/ 9mm so I could afford to shoot it. It felt good, and I was pretty accurate with it right off the bat even though I'd never shot a semi-automatic before in my life.

The only thing about the M that gives me pause is that it's longer. But I've held one and I liked it a lot.

I love my XD9 Service and have no regrets about buying it. Although it doesn't mean I don't want the XDm. And the XDm-9.

In my experience, the cost of a gun is not the purchase price. The cost of a gun is the ammunition. The 9mm is a lot cheaper to feed than the SW40.

I have 9mm and yes ammo is less expensive but I also have the XD-40. It is for me a defense gun, HD and eventually when i'm out of Cali a carry gun as well. It's not too bulky and I like that it has more put down power than a 9mm, you definitely know and feel the difference.

Even with cost of ammo being less for 9mm I still shoot the .40 more often, plus the XD-40 Service is a sexy gun. I say go with XD-40, you won't regret the decision at all.

my .02

My 2 cents is to go with the XDM first...I think you'll be happy with it. Then wait until SA comes out with the XDM in 9MM and get that too.
