New XDSC 9 owner - initial impressions

Hello all.

Glad to be a new owner and this is my first time posting. I thought I would pass along a quick report of my first few days with our xdsc 9mm. This is my first Springfield, other than a Springfield trapdoor 45-70.

My wife and I were searching for a good SD pistol and this proved to be one of the few that fit her hands well. I was very surprised that a double stack semi fit as well as it does. We had searched through many models and had narrowed to just a select few. I had already felt the XD was a great option and was pleased when we determined it was the best option and fit for her small hands.

We purchased the gun yesterday and I was able to take it to the range for a very short 100 round session to get myself acquainted. I was very impressed! Zero failures of any kind and very comfortable to shoot. I have read reviews and knew that the gun is very reliable as well as accurate. However, I think it definitely surpassed my expectations. I also own a Walther P99 9mm. My only range time today was at 7 yards and the XD was was basically as accurate as I can perform with the P99 at this distance. The attachment shows the results of my first few mags (20 rounds) and I consider the results to be good, for me at least.

I've had my XD9SC for a couple years now. I've shot it a lot since then, in all kinds of conditions. I still am impressed with it every time I shoot it. You made a good purchase.

Nice shooting! You and your wife will love the XD9SC. My Service is too big for my wife's hands, but the SC fits right.

You made a good choice. I got one a couple of weeks ago and it exceeded my exspection.Accurate and very little recoil.
