xd40 frame shape

I am trying to find some molds for my XD40 to be used in either a Ransom Rest or a Caldwell H.A.M.M.R. I haven't been able to locate any. I believe that they don't make them. I have had success in taking a mold that is available for another gun that closely meets the shape of the one I need molds for and altering them to make them work. Therefor I am looking for some help in finding another gun that is very close in shape that I can get a mold for. Is there other guns that closely match the the XD40. Particularly the angle of the grip compared to the axis of the barrel.

Thanks,

A month or so ago i read a post on here on (Blue Guns ) for training. I think they had one in the XD40. Darned if i can remember who made them.

You may also try contacting some of the gun holster manufactures. They may be able to help you find one. Good luck

Thanks Terry,

I not sure how the blue gun can help me, but the idea about looking a holster that might fit the XD40 and another brand is something I never thought of. Thank is good think.

What I'm looking to do is take a pre-made insert made for the Caldwell H.AM.M.R machine rest and alter them to fit the XD40. But the insert made for another gun needs to be close to the shape of the XD. Here is a link of a similar mold that I am looking for MidwayUSA - Caldwell HAMMR Grip Insert Glock 20, 21 as an example.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the ideas.

ok I think I'm a little lost... The inserts that you alter, are the for a shooting rest for sighting in? if so do you already have the shooting rest? I have seen some shooting vieses (spelling?) that squeeze the gun to hold it in place so you can you one for all of your hand guns. Bass pro has it.

Yes I do I is called the Caldwell HAMMR but there is another one made by Ransom. I was unable to find a pre-molded insert for an old Taurus Pistol model 66. I heard somewhere that that the older models were copies of S&W models so I bought one and reshaped it using a Dremel tool and filled in the voids with Accurglass. I fits great. Now I want to do the same but for the XD40, but I need to now if there is another mold pretty close to the shape of the gun.

Thanks

I emailed Ransom about it and where to get it and they never responded back to me.
The funny thing is Caldwell show a XD40 in the manual for the HAMMR but yet do have inserts for it, at least no on their web page.
