New-2-Me XD 9 Service-Woohoo!
Well, I'm finally official. Actually, I've been an XD owner since last Saturday, but I was trying to wait until after I'd had a chance to shoot the pistol and shoot some photos to post. Unfortunately, I've been too busy to get to the range, but I do have pictures to share, so I guess 1 out of 2 ain't bad.
This is my first gun ever and of course, my first adventure into gun photography, so if I committed any major errors, I'll leave it up to you guys to let me know. I look forward to getting to the range sometime this week. Still need to get some eye/ear protection in preparation for that, unless they keep some on hand for newbies--I'll have to give them a call. Many thanks to Wendy and her husband for the XD Gear, belt pouch and mag holder. I didn't have any of the accessories, so this gets me up to the baseline. As you will see in the photos, I have a few mags--actually I have more than I photographed. 2 of the mags in the photo are XD40 12-round mags. 3 Mec-Gar MG-SP228 mags came with the gun, but I know nothing about--any information that you can provide would be appreciated. This is a great group for information about the XD and handguns in general. It was a great resource for me in preparation for my purchase. BTW, I bought the gun via GunBroker and picked it up FTF to save shipping and FFL fees. Gun cost was $375, and I paid an additional $50 for 7 additional mags. I don't think I did too badly--you be the judge. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks good-I just made my second range trip today with my XD9 Service and I'm very happy with it.I've put 300 rds through it so far with no problems.I wish I had carried more ammo with me today-it doesn't take long to burn it up!

Great pictures! You might try getting a tripod and turning off the flash, natural lighting is very exciting.
Also, some people photo-chop the serial number(s) off. Remember slide and barrel have numbers to remove (right side). Just to be safe I usually do this. Thanks again for sharing!

What are people going to do with the serial numbers? Commit a crime, tell the officer they don't know where the gun is but they do know the serial number, here ya go !!

It seems more and more that I will have to replace my "plain jane" XDs with their bi-tone brothers, I have two bi-tones, and one DE, the rest are blackies.

Very nice pickup, I would say that you got a good deal on the XD and the mags. You will love the XD-9 Service more as you continue to shoot it. Mine has been flawless...
