Lasermax

Anyone tried a Lasermax on their XD ? Crimson Trace is developing a laser for the XD but it wraps around the grip, not sure if I like that .

I have a Lasermax for my 9. Works great, accurate, easy to engage. Though the more I train, the more I think I would prefer tritium night sights.

Developing!? I was pretty sure the CT has been out for the XD for quite some time...

I like the concept of Lasermax better than Crimson Trace, because it is internal and not external.

Yes the Crimson Trace has been out for the XDs for a while. It's ugly, just like before. I hate em'.

Same here. I was really considering getting one of these. The price tag is kind of high considering there is no flashlight or the like. I wish they had green instead of red though. I wonder how reliable they are though. I really didn't check out the link too much but does it come with springs? .. or what happens with that? The rod any heavier than the factory one? Does anyone have a picture of the piece? I don't care what the laser looks like coming out of the gun.

After considering them both I have the Crimson Trace on my Subcompact XD now. I still am not sure if I like it yet. I have only had the CT's for about a month and it really does change the feel of the grip. Don't get me wrong it is great quality and works really well, my only issue is that it does change the feel of the grip a bit that I have been so accustom to. I would like to know if someone has used the Lasermax and how they felt about it.

Question Lasermax

I thought long and hard about getting a lasermax for my XD and decided to get tru-glo TFO night sites instead. I got to thinking about reaction time if something was to happen and under pressure I am not sure that a laser is the way to go.
Most encounters happen really fast, and I dont know if my reaction time would be fast enough to draw, turn on my laser, aim my laser, and then shoot. All of that takes a little time and I dont think that I am that fast. Just my 2 cents worth.

Well that is the main reason I picked up the Crimson's. You dont have to turn it on (if you leave it activated) you just have to grab the grip like you would always do.

CT grips are crap for left handed people. Any proper two handed grip will cover the laser. The company has decided to leave southpaws hanging out to dry. If I add a laser to my XD it will be the lasermax.

You should check out Armalaser's RSS for the XD. It's compact, responsible price and adjustable. Turns on and off with the touch of your finger. I only wish they had it in a green laser for the XDsc but I quess green lasers are too big for the subcompact.
