XD-9 question

Hey guys,
Today I went off to the range with my SA XD-9
when I got home I noitced that the striker retainer pin was up out of the gun almost half way...
my 2 questions are
1)why?
2) I ended up just pushing the pin back down...is this ok ?

thanks

I have never had that happen to me before but maybe it was crushed a little too hard when inserted and it is now just a little too small for the hole. You might need to get a new pin that is just a slightly tighter fit.

Well, Pistol Gear sells striker retaining pins. So if you broke yours, I'm sure you weren't the first. The only thing I've had fail was the striker indicator pin. But I'm not sure if the actual pin failed, or the spring, or what. I have yet to take it apart. It was on my XD40 Service and probably after 20-30k rounds.

If it is not broken try pushing it out further and put a little "Locktite" blue on it before pushing it back in. If you need a new one as mentioned above "Pistol Gear" carries them.
