I've heard good and bad things about all pistols and revolvers. There's those that think the XD or Glock has problems, but I've had no problems with either. I have a thousand through both and not one problem with either. Get what you feel comfortable with, what you shoot better with and what you consider to be the best pistol as it's you that will be using it.

XD or H&K are the way to go. They have never let me down and are accurate and easy to maintain.

J-frame.

5 shots of 38sp +p. Make sure you have a few speed strips for reloading.

IMO a reliable SD pistol is one that goes bang when I pull the trigger .... Many pistols fit the bill ... But I also have to agree that the ultimate in reliability is a revolver.

Shaner, you CCW with a SA
That's a statement in and of itself and reminds me of a friend who used the same gun w/5.5" barrel to qualify for his CCW.
He stands 4'11" and the instructor asked him if he could get five on the target ... The response was "Yea, unless you only give me 4 bullets" ... He shoots SASS and is one hell of a fast shot.

I only say the J-Frame cuz I want one really bad. I think they are really good deep concealment pieces and work well with pocket carry and summer carry.

Also as long as it is in good working order if you pull the trigger it will fire!
