Rust!!!

OK.

So this morning I pack up my range bag and throw it in the back of my car.

I pull the gun out after work while on the way to the range and the back of the slide is covered in surface rust!!!!!!!!

I have never had any rust on this gun before. I am so pissed. I think it is definitely not the Melonite finish now.

The rust wiped off pretty easily and there is a very, very small amount of pitting on one side. Should I send it back to SA or what? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from rusting in the car besides CLPing the crap out of it?

Sorry, no pics. My camera isn't detailed enough to show the micro pitting anyways and its already oiled back up.

*** Oiled up you can't really make out any of the pitting but if you wipe it dry and hold it just right you can see it. It's not brown or rust colored. It looks like a sticker was pulled off of it kind of.

I would definitely send it back to SA. Give them a call tomorrow and they should take care of you.
