this is the reason i need to carry!! this stuff happens blocks away from the stereo shop i manage. its getting pretty bad here in palm beach. in Florida your allowed to open carry in you place of businesses but i don't like the idea of them knowing im armed so a good concealed holster is a must. any input is great

hi nick,

congrats on your purchase. i bought my XD9SC about 6 months ago and i absolutely love it - fits my hand perfectly and i shoot it well. i've learned so much from reading these forums. my biggest challenge was finding the right holster for myself.

i live in the hot and humid south and wear shorts and t-shirts. i didn't want to change the way i dressed and also didn't feel comfortable printing (even if the printing was very insignificant). i'm 6' 0" and 190 lbs. with an average somewhat athletic build. here are a few options that work well for me.

Smart Carry
(http://www.smartcarry.com)

i've only had this holster for a little more than a week but it is by far the most comfortable holster for me. the holster is quick to put on and take off. it COMPLETELY hides the SC in cargo shorts and jeans with ZERO printing and it even works well in athletic shorts. since it doesn't ride on the belt and it's located in the middle of your body, you just don't feel the weight of the firearm at all. it's very comfortable standing, sitting, walking, jogging, and jumping. i've yet to give it a try on the bike but i'm pretty sure that'll work too.

i feel very confident wearing this holster and am positive that i'll never be "made." just today i walked past two plainclothes officers and didn't feel the least bit concerned that i was printing.

learning to draw quickly requires some practice but it's really quite fast once you get it down. drawing while seated is pretty easy to do too. drawing while driving would require me to first unbuckle my seatbelt.

i wish i wouldn't have waited so long to finally try the Smart Carry. the web site doesn't look very professional and i just couldn't believe that carrying a firearm there would be comfortable or very concealed. i found some videos on youtube that demonstrated the functionality of the Smart Carry and it finally convinced me to give it a try. i received my holster just 3 days after i placed my order - can't complain about that. if it doesn't work for you, you have up to 60 days to try it and return it for a full refund. why did i wait so long??!

MTAC Minotaur
(http://www.comp-tac.com/catalog/prod...products_id=95)

the MTAC Minotaur is a very nice IWB holster. it's pretty comfortable and extremely well crafted. the holster doesn't move around and it doesn't print much either. this holster is very similar to the Crossbreed Supertuck that everyone on this forum loves. i received my holster within a week of placing my order.

i just can't get completely comfortable carrying IWB for whatever reason. it takes me a bit longer to put this holster on and find the sweet spot than strapping on the Smart Carry.

Maxpedition Fatboy
(http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/...4&idproduct=31)

i use my Maxpedition bag everyday in some capacity. i basically use it as a gear organizer for my wallet, keys, phone, flashlight, knife, advil, spare pair of contact lenses, USB flash drive, iPod, Garmin GPS, snacks, etc. it used to be quite an exercise to find my keys. organizing my gear into one small bag has saved me so many headaches over the past year.

the XDSC and spare mag easily fit in the concealed zipper compartment of the Fatboy. when i'm not wearing my XDSC in a holster then it's usually in my bag along with everything else that's important to me. obviously, off-the-body carry has plenty of disadvantages and it's not always convenient (and even odd in some places). the bag is indestructible and i no longer leave my valuables in my car b/c the bag is either with me, locked in my house, locked in my locker or sitting next to my nightstand ready to go.

unfortunately, no one holster works for everyone. hopefully my experience can be of some benefit to you. best of luck!

kj
