So assuming you carry 8 round mags you are basically carrying (or riding with) in 6 mags what the 9mm double stack guys are able to carry in 3 mags.
I don't blame ya. When I carry the wife's 1911 clone I carry 3 mags. One in the gun and two in a mag holder. They are 8 round Wilson Combat 47Ds. That gets me equal to a mag and a half of what I'm carrying when I have my XD on me.

I'm pretty sure Ohio's governor just signed a "stand your ground" law that would make the victim immune from civil liability in a justified self-defense shooting (i.e., no criminal charges filed). Even though it doesn't officially go into effect for another few months, I'd hope the courts would follow suit. Kentucky and several other states already have such a law.

Nikon, glad your buddy is ok. I agree a .22 is better than nothing. 2 years ago an undercover cop shot a dude 2x w 9mm from outside of the passenger window. Hit the guy both times (bg was driving) once in the neck and once in the chest. With the angle of the chest shot, maybe if it was a .22 dude might not have lived..I don't know. Guy survived but a quad last I heard. Bg tried to run the cop over after he found out he was a cop. It was an undercover drug deal. Cop was a good guy, I worked with him a lot and he watched out for us on those "bad" scenes.

wow... glad to see your friend is gonna make it out of this ok (physically). hope he heals quickly and my prayers are with him and his family.
a little something is better than a lot of nothing. small pistol or not, shot placement is crucial and it looks like he got his on target. i wish i could get a CCW here in CA but it's darn near impossible (LA county). |
